Passionate: one key to success in 2009 will be to believe passionately in your brand, and be able to share that passion with others. (If you're not passionate about your brand, why should anyone else be?)Objective (when you need to be): part of brand management is about understanding those around you, and their perceptions. This requires careful listening, unbiased reflection, honesty and objectivity. This is the only way to identify the market opportunities that still exist.
Optimistic: difficult in 2009. These are complex and challenging times. Now is the time when you just have to hang on to your optimism, keep believing and keep moving forward. Very much a part of brand management!
Future focused: building a strong brand takes time: not weeks or months, but years, so it is important to always think about what will work now, and into the future.
Creative: finding creative solutions is an essential part of brand management. In both strategy and implementation you need to look for what others haven't already seen.
